About Us

Equine Sharing Program, Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization that fulfills the growing need for equine assisted therapy. We provide the opportunity for handicapped individuals who do not have the financial means to pay for therapeutic riding on their own. 

Many health care providers, including occupational and physical therapists, are recognizing the many benefits therapeutic horseback riding can offer, to children and adults with disabilities and health problems. Even though horseback riding may be prescribed by a physician as a therapy to improve a disability, the patient may not be eligible for assistance from the government agency or lack funds of their own to be able to participate in an equine therapy program. 

Thanks to generous donations from the community and local businesses, eligible individuals will be able to experience the many benefits of horseback riding which will improve their quality of life both physically and mentally through their interactions with the horse. Recipients will be granted scholarships to be used exclusively for therapeutic horseback riding. Each equine assisted therapy class is taught by a certified PATH instructor. Our scholarship committee will select eligible scholarship recipients based on available funds and financial need. 

Individuals benefiting from these scholarships will be selected based upon financial and therapeutic Kneads. Equine-assisted therapy uses the physical and emotional benefits of the horse to achieve positive results in the lives of disabled individuals. Through the use of our  PATH certified instructors and trained volunteers, these individuals are provided with an opportunity to interact emotionally and physically with the horse through the development of trust, self confidence and discipline. Equine assisted therapy provides many benefits to it’s rider from the horse's range of movement that increases muscle strength and improves flexibility and balance.
